The KM Vertical du Mont-Blanc is an alpine time-trial of 3.8 km for 1,000 m of climbing up to 2,000 m. Its exposed via-ferrata-style finish (cables, steps, handrails) makes it one of Europe's most technical vertical kilometres — poles forbidden.
