Course
The great crossing of the Pyrénées-Orientales. The 100 Miles Sud de France links mountain to sea over 170 kilometers and 9,800 meters of elevation gain, departing from Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via, perched at 1,800 meters in the Cerdagne plateau. The course descends progressively toward the Mediterranean, crossing the Canigou massif, the Conflent gorges, and the foothills of the Albères range. A point-to-point ultra — rare in the French trail landscape: no loop, no return to the start.
The thermal contrast between the cold high Cerdagne and the warm Catalan coast weaves a multi-faced race. Early October nights can be glacial at altitude; the Mediterranean garrigue sections at the end stay warm. The Grande Traversée at 95 kilometers and 5,400 meters of D+ offers a solid alternative for runners who want to cross the massif without the full distance. ITRA-rated, anchored in the eastern Pyrenean trail calendar.
